Magnolia Martin Joins W. J. Vakos Companies

WJ Vakos Companies, a leading commercial, hotel and residential developer in the Fredericksburg Region, announces a new addition to their sales team. Magnolia Martin has joined Vakos Companies in their retail leasing and sales department.

Martin will be responsible for leasing space within the multi-tenant retail, restaurant and office portfolio owned and being developed by Vakos Companies.   This commercial development portfolio includes the local projects of Spotsylvania Courthouse Village, Southpoint Landing, and Thornburg Towne Centre, all located in Spotsylvania County, as well as Greenbrier Square located on I-64 in the City of Chesapeake.  Anchored by Kroger, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Field & Stream, Greenbrier Square has been almost fully leased over the last twelve months with only one out-parcel and one inline space remaining available.

Spotsylvania Courthouse Village is the County’s new and only neotraditional town square development, commonly referred to as “The Village.”  The development provides residents and visitors alike with pedestrian access to on-site shops, restaurants and offices. Vakos is currently constructing the latest addition to The Village, an 84,000-SF mixed-use building that offers 53 Class-A residences on upper floors and 14,000-SF of commercial space on the ground floor with suites ranging from 500 to 8,000 SF now available for both retail and office users.  Thornburg Towne Centre is located on Old Mudd Tavern Rd (Route 606), just off I-95, Exit 118.  The project will meet the retail demands of both local and interstate through-traffic for shopping, retail and lifestyle amenities.

Martin brings over 10 years of experience in commercial real estate to her new position.  Most recently she worked in commercial brokerage for Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite where she handled several different retail portfolios for local and regional developers in the area.  Prior to joining Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite, Martin was a Senior Associate at Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer where she focused on retail transactions and handled the firm’s largest account, The Malone Schooler Company, owner of ten grocery-anchored shopping centers in the region.  She has also worked for Sinvin Realty and Evans Real Estate, both in New York City.
